NSFAS 2027 Applications: Opening & Closing Dates

The NSFAS 2027 application cycle is now open for eligible students who require financial assistance to study at public universities and TVET colleges in South Africa.

📅 Applications Open: 18 September 2026

📅 Applications Close: 18 November 2026

Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible and not wait until the closing date.

Important: Applying for NSFAS funding is separate from applying for admission to a university or TVET college. You must apply for admission to your chosen institution and also submit your NSFAS funding application if you require financial assistance.

How to Apply for NSFAS 2027

1. Visit the official NSFAS website.

2. Create a myNSFAS account or log into your existing account.

3. Complete your personal and household information.

4. Provide the required consent and supporting information.

5. Upload the required supporting documents.

6. Check that all information is correct.

7. Submit your application.

8. Save your NSFAS application reference number.

9. Regularly check your myNSFAS account for updates.

NSFAS 2027 Supporting Documents

Depending on your circumstances, NSFAS may require supporting documents such as:

- South African ID or relevant identification document

- Parent, guardian or spouse information where applicable

- Proof of household income where required
